How much skin are you exposing?

Several years ago I was diagnosed with skin cancer. I contributed my fair European skin and many years of water skiing to too much sun exposure. After my surgery I gave up doing triathlons as all the swimming, biking and running would expose me to lots more sun all the time.  I used sun screen religiously and kept my skin protected all the time, till I started reading more and more about the importance of Vitamin D.

Vitamin D is a nutrient the body produces in response to sun exposure. Simply put, people aren’t getting as much sun exposure as they used to. In turn, people aren’t getting enough vitamin D, and vitamin D deficiency is so common in the 21st century, that researchers are calling it a pandemic.

Now, I’m re-thinking my time in the sun on a more regular basis and I trust my vitamin regimen to give me enough supplemental Vitamin D to keep me at a more optimal level.
